I joined a 2-hour class at The Art Room, on the Nuts and Bolts of being an Artist, with Erika Gofton and Ilona Nelson. I found the class very informative, the teachers very open and helpful. It was so cool that they were sharing what they know, and were speaking from their own experiences. Most of the things they discussed were new to me–artist’s CVs, bios & statements, and presenting, cataloguing, pricing & packaging work. If there was anything I can takeaway from the class, it is this two things: be honest about how you want to be as an artist, and pursuing an art career is a slow process, like a marathon. Good stuff! So glad I joined in.
